Counseling Can Help.

The daily pressures of being a leader, staying vision-focused, and performing at a higher rate than many of those around you can lead you to feel alone, frustrated, and burned out.

The goal of Executive Burnout Counseling is to help you to put it all in perspective, begin to find your purpose and vision again, and see your work…your mission…like you saw it in the beginning:

Exciting. Uplifting. Challenging. Good.

Let’s identify what’s truly important to you…then find a way that your career can support that.

The lines between professional and personal lives are becoming more blurred than ever before, leading to executive burnout and the need for counseling and support to manage and improve the functioning of many executives like yourself.

Characterized by chronic workplace stress that hasn’t been successfully managed, it results in overwhelming exhaustion, increased mental and emotional distance from one’s career, and reduced professional productivity. Leaders find themselves increasingly vulnerable to this challenge.

Understanding the Roots of Executive Burnout

Executives are no strangers to pressure; their roles inherently demand it. You may feel pressure from your team, your spouse, and peer pressure from colleagues, but none like the pressure that you feel from within to succeed and perform at a high level consistently over time. It eventually just adds up, if not managed effectively.

The weight on your shoulders can feel colossal and the mountain of tasks in front of you may seem insurmountable.

Making high-stakes decisions can lead to decision fatigue and managing a team can lead to feelings of frustration and disappointment.

Do you sometimes see those whom you listen to in podcasts or look up to you seemingly accomplishing so much, leaving you wondering why you’re not seeing that same level of success and accomplishment? Culturally, we often celebrate long hours and undying commitment to work. It’s hard not to feel caught in a relentless cycle of meetings, emails, and goals, with little time to decompress or attend to personal needs and health.

The Manifestations of Burnout

While physical and emotional exhaustion are the most noticeable symptoms, burnout penetrates deeper. You may struggle to think clearly at times. You may feel incapable of performing at the level of perfection that you demand of yourself. It’s easy to begin to blame those around you:

“If everyone could just step up and get things done the way I do.”

“Why can’t other people just do what they say they will do?”

“Ugh, I feel like everyone around me is just skating through life while I am doing all the work!”

Are you losing your passion for the work you once loved?

Executive Burnout Counseling provides a safe, confidential space where you can openly discuss your challenges without fear of judgment or repercussions. I will help you uncover the root causes of your stress, be it unmanageable workload, interpersonal conflicts, or the inherent nature of your role.

The Core Components of Executive Burnout Counseling

  1. Assessment: Initial sessions often involve a comprehensive assessment to gauge the severity of burnout and its primary triggers.

  2. Personalized Strategies: Every executive’s experience with burnout is unique, and counseling reflects that. We will work to craft tailored strategies that range from time management techniques to mindfulness practices.

  3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This evidence-based approach can be invaluable. CBT helps identify negative thought patterns that contribute to burnout, replacing them with healthier alternatives.
